Mining for silver and other forecasts

Posted by in Uncategorized

You've heard the cliche – "Every Cloud has a Silver Lining." Well – I choose to believe that is true!

You may think I'm overly optimistic – but I prefer to believe that I am allergic to negativity!!

I believe some folks look for the silver lining behind every cloud and some are more 'gifted' in the area of finding a cloud near every silver lining!

But in our house, we have a rule — no whining or complaining! Now…if something YUCK has happened at school or in business…we discuss it – but we must end the conversation on a positive note.

I call it "the SILVER LINING" rule.

Sometimes, one of us has a hard time seeing the positive in a situation (it's always foggiest in the middle of the cloud, don't you think?) But when that happens, someone else in the family will try to help point out something positive! (Warning, this is not always received with a sweet spirit – haha!)

Try that this week – at your job, in your home, with your friends. You might be surprised at how much better you feel when you are seeking the positive in each situation!

I believe we are limiting our effectiveness and influence if we are not as positive and energy-giving as we can be!

Be Beautiful! Be Positive! Be Blessed!

Ha I had this conversation with my six year old at dinner time. He said, “I don’t like this” – I said, ok, what do you want to do about that? We discussed a couple of options and found a solution. Another question I like to ask is “What’s great about this problem?”
