As your business ebbs and flows, the idea of having a passive income is probably becoming more appealing. Basically, a passive income comes from a source of profit that requires little or no effort on your part to keep the flow going. There are a number of other benefits to creating a passive income. Here I’m sharing just a few.

One of the most recognizable benefits of a passive income is that there is very little overhead. Most passive incomes are information based, so you do not have to worry about storage, delivery costs, or even the cost of raw materials. That way, more of your passive income can be transformed into profit.

Another advantage of passive income that you might not realize is that it is a lot easier to distribute in mass quantities. By using a website or an email list-service, you can easily distribute the information to hundreds, if not thousands of different people. To accomplish the same task through the creation of CDs or DVDs would be extremely cost prohibitive.

Of course, a third benefit of a passive income may not immediately be apparent. A passive income can be a great way to build a quality reputation among the Internet community. By providing your expertise at a relatively low cost, you’ll be seen as the person, the expert to go to when more information is needed. This is one long-term benefit that can not only help your bottom line, but help your business grow as well.

Finally, a wonderful benefit of creating a passive income is that it allows you to use ideas or items that are already in place. There really is no need to create brand new content for an information product, provided that the original information is still valid and usable. For example, a special report or e-book can contain information from previous blogs, replies to various comments on your website, and even information attributable to other sources. In a number of cases the information used as a passive income source can be nothing more than a rehash of what you already created.

For individuals and businesses, affiliate marketing is seen simply as a tool to increase sales, or conversely gain a better income through the commission. However, the relatively simple process associated with affiliate programs can offer a few more uses than what is presented on the surface. Here are a few affiliate program uses that even the most savvy business professionals overlook.

==> FYI Great resources & educational videos on Affiliate Income Training 2.0 Here <==

Affiliate Programs and Your Blog

A blog is a great way to introduce your ideas and expertise to the world. However, one of the most problematic aspects of these online journals is to make sure that your target audience is reading and taking note of what you have to say. By associating your blog with a strong affiliate program, you will increase the exposure to people that would never have come across your blog before. Remember to associate yourself with a strong and reputable program. After all, you’re a professional, and your associations should reflect that.

Provide an Easy Customer Referral Program

Another easy and unique way to use an affiliate program is to provide your customers with an easy way to talk about you. Most satisfied customers want to tell their friends and family about your product or service, but they may not have the time to sit down and write an email or pick up the phone. By providing your customer with an easily used affiliate program, they can spread your praises with a simple click of their mouse, and a few typed words.

Coupon Affiliate Marketing

Nearly everyone loves a sale. Thankfully, this predisposition to bargain hunting can be a great way for you to increase your market share through affiliate marketing. These websites focus not so much on your products or services, but rather the various sales and promotions that you provide. They can be a wonderful way to pique a potential customers interest.

Using Videos

Many will shy away from this last method but it is actually one of the best. Remember that the entire method of an online business is to gain trust and forming a relationship. With the use of videos and your explanation of a product is a wonderful method to add to your affiliate marketing. Don’t be shy, connect with your audience and use the video platform

No matter the reason you use affiliate marketing, there will always be new and innovative ways to make use of the various programs. These are just a few of the unique ways to get started.

I am really enjoying the video series on ==> Innovative Affiliate Marketing Here <==

This month we’ve been focusing on affiliate marketing, the ins and outs and how it can benefit you. But how do you now which program is best for you?

Affiliate program can enhance a business and bring in a few extra dollars for the bottom line. Like any other business process, however, it is important to choose the right one for your needs and goals. By using a few simple ideas, finding the right affiliate program for you will not be hard at all.

Understand How Affiliate Programs Work

Affiliate programs work like an Internet version of a commissioned referral. Either through email, a phone call, or a website of your own, you encourage people you come in contact with to go to a particular website. They make a purchase, and that website provides you with a commission on the sale. In a very real sense, the whole process is based on reputation and trust.

Because of this foundation, it is important to choose to associate yourself and your business with websites that have quality services or products. What is their reputation like? How many negative reviews do they have? Look online for indications that their program is a scam. Remember, once you associate with them, there is no going back.

Birds of a Feather…

One of the most important lessons of affiliate programs that one can learn is that people will shop for similar items during the same time. Therefore, it is prudent to associate your business with complementary services or products. If you have a blog that focuses on natural and environmentally safe cleaning ideas, the best choice for an affiliate program would be one associated with a reputable natural cleaning product lines.

Commission is Important

The right affiliate program depends greatly on how much you make from each sale. A well designed affiliate program will help you increase your income not by forcing you to make an unreasonable number of sales. As a general rule, look for programs with at least 20% commission. Anything significantly less than that will not have a sufficient return on investment for your time.

These are just three simple ideas that should help you find the right affiliate program for your needs. So start to do your homework today and start implementing affiliate programs into your online business, it works!

Today the Internet is filled with Affiliate programs that promise spectacular returns, and easy programs that nearly everyone can use. And yet, most people don’t really generate more than a few hundred dollars a month from their affiliate choices. This is a far cry from the thousands of dollars promised by the various websites.

One of the main reasons why affiliate programs are not as successful as they could be is because the people using them are not taking the right steps to make them effective. The following tips and steps will work for any affiliate program. If you truly want to generate a sizable income from these programs, here is what you need to do.

Make the Right Choice

Believe it or not, not every affiliate program is created equally, and not every one is the best choice for you. Look for programs that tie in with what your website offers. For example, if you’re selling bath and beauty products, don’t connect with an affiliate program that focuses on stock options. By making sure that your website and their website contains items or services that are complimentary to each other, there is more chance of success.

Also, be sure to only work with programs that you have investigated and vetted to your satisfaction. After all, when a visitor comes to your website, they are trusting you to provide them with the quality that they have come to expect. Your success, in part is based upon your reputation. Don’t take the risk and jeopardize what you have worked so hard to create.

The way that you can generate an income with an affiliate program is through the commission. Therefore, it is important to choose one that provides you with a reasonable percentage for your efforts. A commission of only 5% or 10% is simply not a cost effective amount to make an income. You’d have to get well over 10,0000 visitors to your site alone, assuming a 10% conversion rate to your affiliate program to make any appreciable income. Here’s an example. Let’s say that for every person you bring to the affiliate site through your website nets you 5% of a $100 sale, or $5. So, let’s say that you get 10,000 visitors to your site in the month of June. Of those, an average of 10% will venture over to the affiliate program. Of those 1,0000 visitors, maybe 300 people will complete the sale. That means that after taking the time and money to promote, update, and maintain your website, and the affiliate connection for the month, you’ve made maybe $1,500. Does that sound like a decent monthly income? Instead, chose a program with a more reasonable commission, such as 20% to 25%.

Promotion is Important

Like it or not, generating income with these programs does take some work, and most often that means promotion. After all, it’s hard for a person to desire and buy a product or service if they don’t know that it is available to them. There are a number of different ways to accomplish this, and many affiliate programs offer help in this regard. Many of them will advise you to use emails to your visitors or social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter to promote your website. If you have the time, however, consider creating your own marketing plan. That accomplishes two things: 1) it sets your affiliate program apart from all the others, and 2) allows you to focus on what works for your situation.

Chose the Right Thing, Not Everything

Believe it or not, more affiliate programs do not necessarily mean more money. The reason goes back to your reputation and trustworthiness as a business professional. If you promote to many things, your customers will begin to see your word as being for sale. Think about this, if you go to a fancy restaurant and ask the waiter for a recommendation for an entrée, would you trust his judgment if he recommends everything on the menu? Of course you would not. This is the same principle. If you recommend and are associated with every affiliate program available, you truly don’t recommend any at all.

Instead, take the time to investigate and really work with a maximum of five different programs. Most successful affiliate users can generate a good income with only two or three programs. More programs really only mean more work on your part. Why work harder than you need to?

Generating a regular monthly income with affiliate programs is possible. The trick is to make sure that you work the programs correctly, and keep using common sense. Remember these simple things, and your income will increase in no time at all.

Affiliate marketing, if used correctly can be one of the most effective ways to increase the exposure of your product or service into new markets. Because of its popularity, nearly everyone is using this type of marketing, and many don’t really know what it all entails. If you’re curious about what affiliate marketing truly is, and how it works, keep reading because I will share an informative intro below.

(There is also an incredible video series — free — that you can register for here to learn more <==

Affiliate marketing occurs on the basic level when two websites share revenue to sell a product or service. One of the most popular examples of this set up, and one of the largest out there is Amazon. Let’s say for the sake of argument you have an affiliate marketing agreement with this giant. When that happens, Amazon places a banner add on your website. When a visitor to your site clicks on the banner ad, a “cookie” or specific code is created that provides information to Amazon saying that this customer came to them through your specific website. That way, if and when a sale is made, Amazon can “thank” you for the recommendation through a commission, usually between 10% and 50%. How many commissions you get is often based on a set criteria, such as number of clicks, number of registrations, leads, or completed sales to name a few. What the criteria are will often be negotiated between the interested parties.

==> More exact applications, strategies & exciting results can be found HERE in this great video series <==

There are, of course quite a number of affiliate marketing websites. Each one can provide you with a product or service that you could potentially promote on your website. Programs such as Link Share, Click Bank, even Commission Junction are well known examples of ready made affiliate marketing programs that can help you advertise on another person’s website.

Of course, turnkey programs aren’t the only game in town when it comes to affiliate marketing. Quite a few online publishers offer affiliate marketing programs, almost on a daily basis. They use affiliate marketing to promote various books, articles, e-books, videos, or any other products that can be bought or sold over the Internet.

If you are interested in making affiliate marketing work for you, there are some basic things that you can do to make the situation more beneficial to you. Remember, the more people that you get to either your site or your affiliates’ websites, the more potential sales or commissions you can make; which again is another form of referral marketing.

A great way to increase your affiliate marketing is through product reviews. This is a wonderful method to use to promote your own product or service, especially if you have a number of satisfied customers. By asking people who have actually used your product to review it, and allow you to place an affiliate link on the website that hosts the review, you can significantly increase your list of potential clients. Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn passive income and one that has been successful to many. Have you tried affiliate marketing yet?

I’ve personally added 6 figures to my annual income through affiliate marketing and I don’t even consider myself a full-blown affiliate marketer, but that is more of a ‘side stream’ for me…

If that interests you, check out more info here in this free training <==

This month I will be sharing information on partner marketing or as some may call affiliate marketing as well as referral marketing. Many ask how I have built my list and I have shared that information but now that you have a list, what do you do? Marketing is essential in any business and that certainly includes an online business, so today I’ll be sharing some tips on Referral Marketing.

Referral marketing is perhaps one of the most effective methods of gaining new and recurring clients that a business has in their marketing toolbox. However, like any other tool, there are right ways and wrong ways to use it. If you want your clients to provide you a steady supply of new potential customers, below are some easy to use tips that will help you succeed in your endeavors.

Choose a Target

Like any venture, it’s extremely important to have a goal in mind. Referral marketing is no different. If you want to increase your business through referrals, having a specific, time dependent goal is necessary to keep the focus needed. It can also be a great tool for determining whether or not your efforts are being successful. For example, perhaps you want to increase your sales 15% in the next month. Regular checking on the progress to that goal can give you indications where or when changes need to be made to your approach.

Timing Is Truly Important

Traditional sales advice dictates that the best time to ask for a referral is immediately after the close. However, in most cases, this can make you look far too aggressive. After all, you’ve already obtained the promise of a sale; asking for something more at that time might be a bit too much. Instead, wait for the opportunity when you make a follow up call or perhaps an email a few days later.

Finding the Best Choice

Believe it or not, every customer and every client isn’t always the best source for a referral. Since you don’t want to waste your or their time, it’s important to only ask for referrals from those who are likely to give them. Many times, there is a small percentage of your customers that are out right enthusiastic about your products and these are the clients/customers that would most likely provide you with some great recommendations.

When You Give the Best ~ Expect the Best

There is a very old and often used saying that reads, “You get what you pay for.” Nothing could be truer when it comes to referral marketing. It is essential for you to continually make sure that your clients remain satisfied. That way, when they talk about you to their friends and associates, they will be saying good things. It can be something as simple as a follow up call a few weeks after the installation of your product, or perhaps sending them a discount coupon for a maintenance service when needed or even just a simple note thanking them for their commitment. The bottom line is the more you do for them, the more referrals they’ll give you.

These are just a few tips that you can use to make sure that your referral-marketing plan works exactly the way that it should. Once this part of your business plan begins to work well, chances are that everything else will simply fall into place.

The last post I mentioned Partner Marketing and how that works. Today let’s discuss Referral Marketing. But before I can go on, let’s define it.

We all know that marketing is essential to any business and as an entrepreneur it’s no different. Finding a way to market, that is cost effective can mean the difference between an average year and a successful one. So what is referral marketing?

Referral marketing simply means using your existing clients to expand your reach and influence to new potential, and hopefully referring clients. There are a number of wonderful reasons why this process works as well as it does.

One of the main problems that many businesses run into when introducing their product or service to a potential client is making that first contact. Sure, cold calling may work a percentage of the time, but it is very rare when a referred client doesn’t become a new client. Why? It’s simple really. Basically people are quicker to trust and believe what their friends and family have to say. For instance, if a new restaurant opens up in your area, how quick are you going to go visit? Now if a family member or friend visits and comes back with raving reviews, how quick will you visit? That’s referral marketing!

So the question becomes how exactly can you get a referral for your product or service. You already have quality and reliability; you wouldn’t be here with a growing business if you did not. But it’s always a good idea to continually improve your product or service. Next comes the hard part for some people. The best way to get a referral is to ask for one.

Surprised? Now of course it would be great if someone would spontaneously recommend your business to friends or family, but it doesn’t always work that way. More often than not, people have to be reminded, ever so gently; of what you can offer and provide for the people they know.

There are two basic schools of thought when it comes to asking for a referral: passive referrals and active referrals. Which one you use depends greatly on your business style, your personality, and which one works best for your needs. Use one or the other, or both, depending on the situation at hand. The bottom line is to use what works.

An active referral occurs when you ask specifically for the contact information for someone that your client knows. This approach is most effective in those situations when the client themselves doesn’t have the time to go out and spread your praises. All they need to do is provide the contact information for someone that would be receptive to your message. What could be easier than that? It’s not cold calling at that point, because you have their name and the referral source.

The passive style of getting a referral occurs when you provide your personal contact information to your client for distribution throughout their contacts. While this method may take you out of the driver’s seat, it can still be a very effective way to get referrals. It is best used with clients who value their friends’ privacy and are hesitant to provide their information. By allowing them an active roll in the process, they will feel more in control, and there will be less pressure.

Now, just like anything else, there are good and bad points to each referral method. For example, the active method of gaining a referral can sometimes come across as being too aggressive. However, the passive method might come across as you not believing completely in your product or service. Each method also has positive qualities. The active approach lets potential customers know that you are passionate about what you have to offer; the passive one lets those providing the referral know that you trust them.

Whichever method you choose depends greatly on the situation at hand. Referral marketing, if used correctly can become one of your most beneficial tools in business plan. So, what are you waiting for?? What method resonates best for you and why?

You’re probably wondering what I mean by partner marketing. It’s what I like to call it, instead of affiliate marketing. It works completely the same, however, it seems to have a better ring and also more of a connection. After all, marketing is a way to connect to your prospective clients and to your existing ones as well.

So, partner marketing works just as affiliate marketing does, but there’s more of a plan involved. Affiliate marketing is a wonderful way to make extra income and many are making a great passive income in this manner as well. Searching for companies to connect with can be time consuming but if this is the market you are concentrating on it can be very worth while.

The main difference between partner marketing and affiliate marketing is the connection you have with the company or individual. For instance, if one of your colleagues or online acquaintances has a great seminar or product they would like you to promote, then this would be what I consider partner marketing. Sharing their products or information with your friends would be something that would be easier to do, because of the relationship and connection that has already been built.

With partner marketing, your list, followers, connections and as I like to call them friends, will trust the program or product that I am sharing with them, because I have closely researched the product or service. As well as because they are someone I trust or a service I have used and trust.

So, you see, affiliate marketing is fabulous and works but so does partner marketing. What will you choose?

All month we have been discussing ways to promote and be seen. Have you put any of the tips into action?

Remember, a simple website or web page is great but not the only way to build your list. The most important method of creating or building your list is to build a relationship. All too often you will notice the many who join the various social networks to simply post their products or their website information. Of course that is essential but most importantly is the relationship that is established first. Many will speak of a person and you will then have some knowledge. Let me explain.Think about seeking an electrician or plumber. Sure you can go through the ‘old-fashioned’ yellow pages but most of us will first ask our friends or acquaintances for referrals.

Having a business or presence online works in the same fashion. Instead of the yellow pages, there are search engines. And the referrals will come in the form of testimonials on the web page or perhaps by those you connect with on social networks. So you see, building a relationship is extremely important when building your list.

If you are on some of the social networks, I’m sure you’ve come across the so-called ‘spammers’. Those are the folks that will by pass the conversation and simply send out tweet after tweet of advertisements. Do you want to be classified as such? I’m sure your answer is a resounding NO!

Instead, consider providing information that is pertinent to your target audience. Make yourself available for Q & A, or perhaps develop a teleseminar series with information that will benefit your audience. Those are some easy steps to building your list. For a more list building tips consider my FREE program ==> Magnetic List Building Video Series. On these videos I share tips that I personally used to build my list so I’m sure you will benefit from them.

Enjoy and why don’t you share ways you have used or continue to use to build your list. Part of being in a community is sharing tips and methods that have worked for you. Share your tips below.
